- I bought two 82550 (no A's) and both were recognized as 16550's with bad
- FIFO (BNU fossil driver, OS/2 2.x). I bought a TL16C550 (Texas
- Instruments) and a National Semiconductor NS16550AFN and they were
- identified as 16550A.
- What I want to say is, that you have to look for the 'A' (or 'C') even at
- clones!
- A good clone has to tell the software it's a 16550A or your software
- won't use the FIFO.
